All are warmly invited to join the STL Scribblers group at Central Library next Monday, December 9, at 7:00 pm for a reading and holiday celebration. Sweets and hot beverages will be served, and literary gifts will be given, in the Carnegie Room, with its historic skylight and beautiful hardwood floors. It’s a lovely place to soak up the holiday cheer and some great spoken word by area writers.
The evening will feature short readings by current and former Scribblers members, including Jason Kauffman, Jo Tyler, Scott Larkin, and Denise Thomas.
Since its inception in October 2010 at Carpenter Branch, the STL Scribblers group has been a meeting place for dozens of local writers and the starting point for creative work that has ended up in numerous publications, both online and in print. The group meets the first Monday evening of each month, offering writing tips, feedback from group members, and inspiration from the library’s collection. For more information about the group, contact Eric at <ELundgren@slpl.org>.
It’s been my pleasure to work with some remarkable and talented people from the city of St. Louis. I hope you will join us on Monday to celebrate their creativity. And, you know, eat some cookies.
